Angola covers an area larger than Texas and California combined. While essentially an agricultural country, it is rich in mineral deposits, and its oil industries make it potentially one of the richest countries in Africa. While peace finally seemed secure, more than a half-million Angolans were faced with starvation. The continuing conflict caused problems as famine, millions of land mines, refugee crises, and the disruption of normal commerce.

The destruction in the region is unimaginable with scars of shooting and bombing still visible everywhere.

After the war ended we were able to expand mission work towards South Western Angola.SWAM'S main focus in Angola is providing of fresh water and the building and maintaining of a medical missions clinic in South Western Angola in partnership with the local church.
